About the role
You join a large organisation with its own app domain, made up of several development teams working in native Android and iOS technology. The app is currently partly hybrid and is being moved towards a fully native setup.
What you bring
- You take initiative and know when to consult a more experienced colleague
- You keep up with developments in Kotlin and the Android ecosystem
- Pragmatic, with an eye for practical and elegant solutions
- You collaborate with mutual respect and involve colleagues in your plans
- At least four years of experience developing Android apps
- Nice to have: build tools, project modularisation, coroutines, and Jetpack Compose
- Experience with unit tests and UI tests, including setting up a test suite
What you will do
- Build new features in the Android app together with your team
- Cover your code with unit tests and help maintain automated UI tests
- Align your work with the product owner and the other development teams
- Contribute to the move from a hybrid app to a fully native one
- Help shape the architecture and design of the app
- Share knowledge and best practices in a fortnightly Android developer meet-up
