Job description

About the role

An international organisation in data and e-commerce technology is looking for a data engineer. You work on a cloud based data platform that handles high traffic volumes. You build and improve data processing and the links between systems.

What you will do

  • Connect the various systems inside the platform
  • Design and extend data processing workflows within the platform
  • Build and integrate REST APIs
  • Keep usability, robustness, and business value in mind
  • Work on complex algorithmic problems
  • Help colleagues improve their programming skills

What you bring

  • At least 4 years of programming experience
  • Experience with data modelling and databases such as MongoDB, BigQuery, and PostgreSQL
  • Bonus: machine learning, front-end development, e-commerce and search platforms such as Magento, ATG or Apache Lucene or Solr, Google Analytics, monitoring tools such as Grafana
  • Knowledge of cloud computing, preferably Google Cloud
  • Experience with medium to large web projects in high traffic environments
  • You enjoy working in a team
  • Skilled in Python 3 and Shell
