Senior PHP developer

About the role

You join a Dutch IT service provider that builds software for organisations in care, welfare, and social services. The development team works on a SaaS platform for these organisations as well as applications for citizens. As a senior developer you deliver solutions end to end and help shape the architecture.

What you bring

• You organise your own work and communicate clearly about progress
• Experience with Laravel, Zend Framework, Vue.js, or the TALL stack is a plus
• At least five years of experience as a developer
• Solid knowledge of PHP and object-oriented development
• Knowledge of automated testing, API development, or accessibility is welcome
• Commitment to software with social value
• Knowledge of JavaScript and CSS

• An onboarding period to get to know the software
• Role of at least 32 hours a week
• Working hours preferably between 8.00 and 18.00
• One-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position

What you will do

• Build web applications that let users record information on the go
• Improve front-end performance, for example through code splitting
• Coach junior developers through code reviews and pair programming
• Build full-stack solutions from first concept to delivery
• Help shape the software architecture and make well-considered technical choices
• Design and document APIs for use by other parties
