Job description

About the role

A large public sector organisation is looking for a database specialist to manage its SQL Server estate. You work in an agile setting and deliver a stable, secure database platform. There is room to specialise further or broaden towards other database platforms over time.

What you will do

  • Guide migration projects for relational databases
  • Work with colleagues in an agile and DevOps way of working
  • Functionally steer external suppliers and partners
  • Apply information security frameworks to the database platform
  • Manage and improve the SQL Server environment on Windows Server

What you get

What you bring

  • Familiar with frameworks such as the government information security baseline, CIS, or Security by Design
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
  • Completed HBO or WO degree in computer science
  • Experience with relational database migrations and steering external partners
  • Certification in SQL Server, ITIL, Scrum, or DevOps is an advantage
  • At least five years of experience in a comparable administration role
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and current Windows Server versions
