Junior Java developer

About the role

An international IT services firm is looking for a junior Java developer. You start in customer projects and later move towards model-based code generation and research work. You join a team focused on software that lasts and stays easy to change.

What you bring

• Exposure to Postgres, DB2, SQL Server, Hibernate, OpenJPA, Java EE, EJB3, REST, Angular, Maven, or Jenkins is a plus
• Willing to travel
• Basic knowledge of Java and interest in complex software architectures
• Master's degree in computer science, ICT, industrial engineering, or business information systems
• Abstract thinker who enjoys looking for new solutions
• Long-term view on software development rather than short-lived hypes
• Dutch and English, or the willingness to learn them

What you will do

• Turn user stories into working functional components
• Build maintainable software following a scientifically grounded design method
• Propose solutions that match customer needs and priorities
• Support unit testing and integration testing
• Contribute to research and further development of the approach used
• Model and develop software, and later work with code generation
