Job description

About the role

A large Dutch organisation with its own growing IT department is looking for a Linux systems administrator. The department works with scrum teams, product owners, and testers. Over the coming year the development and production environments will be automated further, and you help make that happen.

What you bring

  • Solid experience installing and deploying Linux environments
  • Experience with VMware or other virtualisation software is a plus
  • Excellent Dutch and English, both spoken and written
  • You explain technical solutions clearly to less experienced colleagues
  • HBO level of working and thinking
  • Available full time
  • Knowledge of Apache, MySQL, PHP, and GitLab pipelines

What you will do

  • Communicate about production environment setup and help shape its automation
  • Keep environments up to date with recent security patches
  • Take care of back-ups and documentation of setup and working methods
  • Handle incidents and keep test and development environments available
  • Automate the development and production environments using Ansible or Puppet
  • Set up, manage, and improve staging, test, and development servers and applications
  • Work closely with a DevOps engineer and several development teams
